On February 9th, The U.S. Department of State proposed increases in the fees charged for various U.S. Passport procedures. Passports for applicants 16 and over are set to increase by $35. This includes first time passports and renewals. Applicants under 16 that only receive passports valid for 5 years will see their application fee go up by $20. Having extra pages added to your passport, which was free, will cost $82. Passport cards for adults will go up $10 and for those under 16 to $5.
